INCIDENT 46/2022 JUN 25th SAT. 14,38 RIBBLE WAY PATH, SOUTH OF HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT
A walker (m) tripped on the riverside path near Horton Wastewater Treatment Works, sustaining a suspected hip injury. A passer-by called for an ambulance and his companions made him as comfortable as possible, while waiting. YAS called CRO for assistance and after the YAS paramedic had immobilised the casualty and administered pain relief, team members carried him to a waiting road ambulance. Volunteer hours: 25
INCIDENT 45/2022 JUN 21st TUE. 15.50 FLUTED HOLE, NEWBY MOSS, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT
A member of the public reported having seen a lamb stuck down a pothole on Newby Moss and provided a grid reference for the location. A small team of CRO members undertook a quick search of the general area and located the lamb, marooned down Fluted Hole. An adult accompanying a school group visit to Long Churn Caves was reported to be having difficulty breathing just as the group had arrived at the cave entrance. CRO team members administered oxygen to aid the women’s breathing and after assessing her medical condition concluded that she was sufficiently stable to be transported down to the road whilst seated in a CRO vehicle.
