A caver at a pot-hole club hostel reported that eight overseas cavers were three hours overdue on a trip into Shuttleworth Pot, beneath Leck Fell. As a precaution, the parking areas on Leck Fell Lane and at Bull Pot Farm were checked, with no unexplained cars discovered. NYF&RS asked for assistance in rescuing a large lamb which had fallen perhaps 9 or 10 metres from the top of Catrigg Foss and was stranded on a ledge between the upper and lower waterfalls.
