A Three Peaks walker (f, 20) suffered crippling abdominal pain, causing her to faint momentarily on the summit of Whernside – her final peak of the three. The team responded, also requesting an air ambulance, but the YAS clinical hub decided that the casualty had rallied sufficiently to be classed as ‘walking wounded’. A caver (f) attending the Spring winch meet at Gaping Gill was believed to be suffering from appendicitis and CRO was called. Members were despatched by Land Rover and Honda Pioneer, at the same time as the availability of an air ambulance was queried. A climber (f, 54) fell from above her highest anchor, catching one foot on a ledge and sustaining a suspected ankle fracture on Ivy Buttress, Giggleswick North.
