Yorkshire Ambulance Service requested CRO’s assistance with a casualty (f, 38) who had reportedly injured her ankle and was unable to walk. When the YAS paramedics and the first CRO members reached the casualty’s supposed location, the casualty was nowhere to be found. Further inquiries determined that her party had managed to get her off the hill and transported her to hospital. VOLUNTEER HOURS: 7

INCIDENT 83/2023 SEP. 30th SAT. 17.17 CHAPEL-LE-DALE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT
A group of walkers (2f, 3m, 30s) set off up Ingleborough from near Chapel-le-Dale. One member of the group turned back at Humphrey Bottom. Having later received a message from the rest of the group saying that they were lost, she called 999. INCIDENT 78/2023 SEP. 10th 12.10 BARBONDALE GORGE, BARBON, CUMBRIA – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT
Cumbria Police asked CRO to assist a scrambler (f, 46) who had slipped in Barbondale Gorge, injuring her right lower leg. Team members accessed the casualty who was at an awkward location in the gorge, assessed her, administered pain relief, and splinted her leg.
