INCIDENT 31/2025. APR 20th SUN. 12:54 hrs. MALHAM COVE, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE

North Yorkshire Police called the team to assist a walker (m, 62) who had slipped going over a stile and tumbled about 12 feet, injuring his back.  When the team arrived our brilliant colleagues from Yorkshire Air Ambulance were already on scene providing care.  Team members helped YAA walk the casualty carefully to the nearby helicopter for transfer to a ground ambulance down in the village. INCIDENT 30/2025. APR 14th MON. 11:02 hrs. SCALEBER FORCE, SETTLE, NORTH YORKSHIRE

North Yorkshire Police asked the team to assist with a walker (m, 63) who had slipped and sustained an ankle injury at Scaleber Force near Settle.  Team members attended and splinted the ankle.  They then stretchered the casualty out of the steep gorge with a backup rope for safety.  The casualty was carried to a nearby team Land Rover and driven to his friend’s vehicle for onward transport to hospital.…

INCIDENT 17/2025 MAR. 9th SUN. 11:45 MEALBANK QUARRY, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE. ANIMAL INCIDENT

A local farmer asked the team to rescue one of his sheep from the rock face at Mealbank Quarry.  Team members attended and set up a rope access system to lower two team members to the sheep’s location.  Unfortunately, while team members tried to reassure the sheep as they approached it, the sheep attempted to escape and fell down the crag.  The farmer checked the sheep and advised that it…

INCIDENT 71/2024. SEPTEMBER 21st SAT 23.52 hrs. HORTON SCAR LANE, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE

North Yorkshire Police tasked the team to assist a walker (m, 46) descending from Pen y ghent who was unable to continue due to the combined effects of a pre-existing medical condition and exhaustion.  With the walker’s location known and accessible by off-road vehicle, two members in a team Land Rover attended and transported the walker back to Horton in Ribblesdale.
