INCIDENT 45/2021 – JULY 10th SAT. 13.27 – INGLETON WATERFALLS TRAIL, NEAR ‘TOM’S CABIN’, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A visitor (m, 43) was reported to be fitting, on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail between Pecca Falls and Thornton Force. As team members neared the site, confirmation was received that he was at the ‘Tom’s Cabin’ refreshment hut. INCIDENT 44/2021 – JULY 5th MON. 14.11 – Nr SNOW FALLS, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A visitor (f, 63) felt unwell, dizzy and possibly dehydrated, soon after passing Snow Falls on the return leg of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. Her husband phoned for an ambulance and YAS alerted the CRO Duty Controller. When he spoke to the husband, he was told that the patient had been able to stand and would set off again, to walk gently towards Ingleton. A small team went to investigate…

INCIDENT 43/2021 – JULY 3rd SAT. 11.46 – BETWEEN HIGH BIRKWITH AND OLD ING, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A Three Peaks walker (f) was reported to have broken an ankle, between High Birkwith and Old Ing, North of Horton. A small team went to investigate, with other members asked to show their availability. When the team Land Rover arrived on scene, the casualty was already in a YAS road ambulance, so everyone was stood down. Volunteer hours 6.  

ALERT Only – Jun 27th Sun. 13.42 – Ledge over Gaping Gill main shaft, Clapham, North Yorkshire – Alert No. 6 of 2021

A CRO member, out leading a school group (his ‘day-job’), saw a sheep apparently stranded on the ledge at the top of the main shaft into the Gaping Gill main chamber. He passed the information on, but thought the sheep might ‘self-rescue’ if left. The following morning, the Duty Controller diverted his morning run to check the site, but the sheep was no longer there. Local farmers were gathering there…
