Incident 12/2016 – Mar. 15th Tue. 10:42 – Meal Bank Quarry, Ingleton – Animal Rescue

The team were called by a farmer, concerned for a ewe in lamb, which had become stranded on a ledge on the quarry face. A small party abseiled down to the ledge from above, and were able to encourage the sheep to ‘self rescue’ up the craggy gully down which she had approached the ledge. Incident 07/2016 – February 19th Fri. 15.47. – Whernside, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

Two walkers undertaking the 3 peaks walk reported themselves in difficulty and frightened near the summit of Whernside (the second peak).  Conditions on the day included some snow showers and heavy rain. Following a discussion with them on their mobile phone and the use of SARLOC to obtain a GPS location for them, a Land Rover and team members were dispatched to collect the pair. Cubs visit CRO

Twenty-five Cubs and their leaders, from Ingleton Cub Scout Pack, enjoyed a tour of the CRO Base, at Clapham, on Tuesday evening.  They saw the team’s equipment, vehicles and control room, then heard about the varied role that CRO plays in going to the aid of local people and active visitors.  After a quick drink, they followed Search Dog Glen and Future Search Dog  Angus to Clapham Car Park, where the Border Collies demonstrated…
