INCIDENT 73/2023 AUG. 31st THU. 13.37 MALHAM COVE, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A visitor (f, 69), with a known medical condition, climbed the steps at the side of Malham Cove, but collapsed on reaching the top. When team members arrived, she had recovered significantly. After assessment by YAS paramedics, the patient was carried by stretcher to an air ambulance which flew her down to Malham for transfer to a road ambulance and the journey to hospital for further assessment. INCIDENT 70/2023 AUG 19th SAT. 12.13 HIGH HILL LANE, SETTLE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – LOCAL INCIDENT

A couple were walking on the field path from Lambert Lane to Upper Settle, with their dogs, when a group of young cattle began running towards them. The walkers scrambled into a different field to avoid the beasts, but the man (53) fell and sustained a knee injury, so that he could not walk. INCIDENT 67/2023 AUG 10th THURS 15.09 THORNTON FORCE, THORNTON-IN-LONSDALE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Just as the Team were clearing from the previous sheep rescue incident, we were again called by North Yorkshire Police to assist a walker (F, 52) who had injured her ankle near Thornton Force, on the Ingleton Waterfalls Walk. Team members attended and administered treatment to stabilise the injury before a short stretcher carry back to Team vehicles nearby.
