CRO were called out to assist a walker who had fallen and injured her leg, not far from the summit of Whernside. Whilst CRO team members were assembling near Bruntscar at the foot of Whernside, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) arrived on scene. The team were called by North Yorkshire Police to a walker who had slipped whilst descending Whernside, and sustained a suspected ankle fracture. Team members found the casualty being assisted down the hill by his companions, and assessed the casualty, providing splinting and pain relief. The walker was then stretchered to a team vehicle, and transported to a waiting road ambulance at the Station Inn, Ribblehead. Volunteer hours: 53
