Incident 48/2018 – Aug. 4th Sat 12.02 Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A visitor (m, 32) sustained a fracture to the shoulder, after taking a fall between Manor Bridge and Pecca Falls, on the Waterfalls Trail. Team members immobilised the shoulder, then supported him on the walk down to the main Trail car park. He was assisted into a team vehicle and taken to a North West Ambulance Service road ambulance for the journey to hospital. Volunteer hours: 14  

Incident 38/2018 – Jun. 9th Sat 18.38 Thornton Force, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

Whilst attending to incident 37, CRO was called to an incident at Thornton Force, near Ingleton. A boy, aged 11, had slipped whilst entering the pool at the foot of Thornton Force and hit his head on a submerged rock. Incident 34/2018 – Jun. 2nd Sat 14.25 Baxengill Gorge, Waterfalls Trail, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A visitor (m, described as ‘big and heavy’) fell on the stepped path, landing on an unrelated visitor (f, 45). Although he walked away, she sustained a suspected fractured clavicle and grazes to her head.  After immobilising the injury and administering pain relief, team members walked her gently to a YAS road ambulance for transport to hospital. Incident 29/2018 – May 27th Sun 14.23 Waterfalls Trail, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A female walker fell approximately 20 feet down stone steps near Pecca Falls, losing consciousness for a short while. The team were tasked by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist, and located the casualty not far from our rendezvous point. YAS paramedics were conveyed to the casualty, who after a full assessment identified suspected head and spinal injuries. She was placed in a full body vacuum splint and stretchered by team…
