The team responded to a request from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) to assist with reports that cries for help had been heard from within one of the many potholes on Leck Fell, which form part of the largest cave system in the UK. Four cavers were reported overdue on a through trip from Lancaster Hole to Wretched Rabbit, beneath Casterton Fell, having set off at noon.
