A walker, descending from Ingleborough to Horton in Ribblesdale, told NYP that he had seen triple flashes of light repeatedly for 15 minutes from the summit of Pen y ghent. Small groups of team members walked the paths to and over the summit in rain and high wind. Checks were also made for any aircraft or military activity in the area, but nothing was found. Four cavers were reported overdue on a through trip from Lancaster Hole to Wretched Rabbit, beneath Casterton Fell, having set off at noon.
