A visitor (m, 31), staying at the campsite in Horton in Ribblesdale, went for a late evening run towards Pen y ghent, but took a bad fall somewhere near Hull Pot, possibly at about 23.00 hrs on Saturday. Three walkers (m, 20, 20, 18) reported themselves lost in thick mist, heavy rain and strong wind while attempting to walk the Three Peaks. NYP were able to provide a grid reference which placed them on Simon Fell, to the NE of Ingleborough. Having called out team members to go to Chapel le dale, the Duty Controller was able, eventually, to speak to one of the ‘mispers’ and give directions…
A climber (f, 32) fell from one of the routes on the lower quarry face at Storrs Common, sustaining lower leg injuries. A YAS crew was on scene and an air ambulance was en route when the CRO Duty Controller was called. Paramedics having treated and ‘packaged’ the casualty, team members transported her to the road ambulance on a CRO wheeled stretcher. Volunteer hours: 15
A visitor (f, 40) fell on the return leg of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, sustaining leg and head injuries. When the ambulance crew members were unable to find her, YAS called the CRO Duty Controller. Team members soon found the casualty, assessed her, provided pain relief and carried her by stretcher to the YAS road ambulance for the hand-over. Volunteer hours: 33
