A walker (f, 37) tripped and fell, head first, on the rocky first section of the path from the summit ridge of Whernside towards Bruntscar. YAS sent their rapid response vehicle and an air ambulance, then called CRO. They were joined, later, by a road ambulance. A walker (f, 74) tripped on the beck-side path to the foot of Malham Cove, falling forwards. Putting her hands up to arrest the fall and protect her face resulted in an injury to one shoulder / upper arm. INCIDENT 76/2021 – SEPTEMBER 28th TUE. 13.53 – ‘THE HOPE LINE’, GISBURN FOREST – LANCASHIRE, MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Finding himself short-handed after a mountain biker (m, 38) was dismounted in a collision with a tree near Hesbert Hall, the team leader of Bowland Pennine MRT called CRO for support. Team members attended and when NWAS paramedics had assessed and treated the casualty, who had been unconscious and had sustained suspected arm and collar-bone fractures, they assisted with carrying him to the road ambulance.
