INCIDENT 76/2023 (same day). 15.56 FOOT of MALHAM COVE, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A visitor (f, 78) suffered a medical event near the foot of Malham Cove. An ambulance was called and YAS asked CRO to attend, also. Members in the first team vehicle reached the casualty site very soon after the paramedics began their assessment of the patient, who seemed to be improving. She was assisted to the team vehicle and driven to Town Head Farm for transfer to the road ambulance.…

INCIDENT 73/2023 AUG. 31st THU. 13.37 MALHAM COVE, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A visitor (f, 69), with a known medical condition, climbed the steps at the side of Malham Cove, but collapsed on reaching the top. When team members arrived, she had recovered significantly. After assessment by YAS paramedics, the patient was carried by stretcher to an air ambulance which flew her down to Malham for transfer to a road ambulance and the journey to hospital for further assessment. INCIDENT 62/2023 JUL. 25th TUES. 17:13 DEEPDALE SIDE, DEEPDALE, DENT, CUMBRIA – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Cumbria Police requested CRO’s assistance for two young hillwalkers, in separate parties at different locations but part of the same large group, who were going in and out of consciousness.  Initial information was limited but placed both parties on the Deepdale side of Whernside.  Team members located the casualties, assessed them, and brought them down off the hill for further assessment by our colleagues at NWAS and YAS.  While this…
