A visitor (f, 29) slipped while stepping from boulder to boulder just below Thornton Force, twisting her knee. After assessment by the team doctor (Sprain rather than dislocation or fracture.), her leg was splinted by YAS paramedics. Accompanied by team members, she was helped to walk about 200m to a team Land Rover for the drive to the road ambulance. Volunteer hours: 14

INCIDENT 58/2021 – AUGUST 3rd TUE. 14.44 – BOTTOM QUARRY, STORRS COMMON, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT
A climber (f, 32) fell from one of the routes on the lower quarry face at Storrs Common, sustaining lower leg injuries. A YAS crew was on scene and an air ambulance was en route when the CRO Duty Controller was called. Paramedics having treated and ‘packaged’ the casualty, team members transported her to the road ambulance on a CRO wheeled stretcher. Volunteer hours: 15
INCIDENT 05/2021 – Mar. 23rd Tue. 15.32 – Mealbank Quarry, Ingleton, North Yorkshire. – Animal Incident
A pregnant ewe had been seen on a ledge on the former quarry at Mealbank, but was left for a day or two to find its own way off, as it became hungry. When this did not happen, the farmer asked for CRO’s assistance. Unfortunately the sheep was more frightened of its rescuer than of the drop from high on the quarry face and leapt off, as he abseiled over…

Very soon after members returned home from incident number 58, a call was received to a visitor (f, 39) who had sustained a suspected ankle fracture on the return half of the Ingleton Watefalls Trail. A hasty search by the first team members on scene at Beezleys found her on the main path, near the viewing bridge in Baxengill Gorge.
