INCIDENT 46/2022 JUN 25th SAT. 14,38 RIBBLE WAY PATH, SOUTH OF HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A walker (m) tripped on the riverside path near Horton Wastewater Treatment Works, sustaining a suspected hip injury. A passer-by called for an ambulance and his companions made him as comfortable as possible, while waiting. YAS called CRO for assistance and after the YAS paramedic had immobilised the casualty and administered pain relief, team members carried him to a waiting road ambulance. Volunteer hours: 25

ALERT Only – Dec. 11th Sat. 20.11 – Sell Gill Holes, Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire – Alert No. 10 of 2021

Four cavers (all m, early twenties) were reported overdue on a trip into Sell Gill Holes. Having dispatched an air ambulance and a road ambulance, YAS called CRO to a walker (f, 33) who had fallen on the descent route from Pen y ghent towards the top of Horton Scar Lane, sustaining a facial injury and a deep scalp wound.
