North Yorkshire Police asked for CRO’s assistance following a report that a group of Three Peaks walkers could not locate one of their members who had become tired and had agreed to wait for the others while they finished the route.  While the duty controller was speaking to the police to obtain further information, the group called back to advise that they had found the missing walker. While competing in the Three Peaks Race, a runner (m, 20) tripped on the approach to the summit of Pen y ghent, having run up via Horton Scar Lane. When he fell forwards, he put an arm out to arrest the fall and, in doing so, dislocated a shoulder. As they were returning to Horton in CRO 3 Land Rover, having delivered team members to stand by for the race going over Whernside, two members saw a cyclist almost taking a bend in the road and landing over a wall near Selside. A group of three Three Peaks walkers reported themselves exhausted, saying that one (m, 23) ‘can not move’.
