Three cavers were reported overdue in one (?) of the caves in the Great Douk / Sunset Hole area, having given a ‘call-out time’ of 15.00. As members were en route across the fell, it was discovered that they had emerged safely before 13.00, but failed to communicate that fact to their safety contact. The team stood down. INCIDENT 31/2021 – JUNE 14th MON. 21.34 – COWSKULL POT, ADJACENT TO PENNINE WAY, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT
A farmer’s wife left a message on CRO’s Facebook, saying that a lamb could be heard near Cowskull Pot, on the West side of Pen y ghent. The following morning, a small party of CRO members found a rather heavy sheep in Cowskull Pot, hauled it to the surface and released it, unharmed, onto the fell. Volunteer hours: 10
INCIDENT 29/2021 – JUNE 5th SAT. 15.18 – THE ALLOTMENT, INGLEBOROUGH, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT
A walker (m 55) phoned for help, saying that he had collapsed, felt weak and had a pain radiating from the upper left hand side of his chest. He had been walking alone and CRO was able to confirm the walker’s “off-piste” location at the edge of The Allotment on Ingleborough by using a computer based “phone find” application. CRO mobilised their off-road buggy to get help to the walker…

As members were arriving at the Giggleswick incident (No. 27), the YAS Emergency Operations Centre contacted CRO again, this time with a request to go to the aid of a visitor (f, 45) who had injured an ankle when she slipped on wet rocks, a little way below Thornton Force on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail.
