INCIDENT 76/2021 – SEPTEMBER 28th TUE. 13.53 – ‘THE HOPE LINE’, GISBURN FOREST – LANCASHIRE, MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Finding himself short-handed after a mountain biker (m, 38) was dismounted in a collision with a tree near Hesbert Hall, the team leader of Bowland Pennine MRT called CRO for support. Team members attended and when NWAS paramedics had assessed and treated the casualty, who had been unconscious and had sustained suspected arm and collar-bone fractures, they assisted with carrying him to the road ambulance. INCIDENT 75/2021 – SEPTEMBER 21st TUE. 19.05 – DESCENT FROM INGLEBOROUGH, HORTON in RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A three peaks walker (f, 22) was reported to have fallen, sustaining an ankle injury, on the descent from Ingleborough towards Horton in Ribblesdale. INCIDENT 74/2021 – SEPTEMBER 21st TUE. 11.20 – Off THWAITE LANE, AUSTWICK, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

YAS called CRO when a walker (f, 45) was reported to have been ‘trampled by cows’ in a field, just off Thwaite Lane, between Clapham and Austwick. When the first team members arrived, they found two road ambulances and an air ambulance already on scene with the paramedics assessing the patient’s injuries and giving her pain relief. INCIDENT 73/2021 – SEPTEMBER 15th WED. 15.32 – MALHAM COVE, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A visitor (m, 46) was reported to have fallen, a third of the way up the steps to the top of Malham Cove. He was unable to stand or put any weight on one leg because of a knee injury. After attention from YAS paramedics, he was helped on to a stretcher and CRO members, assisted by the paramedics, carried and sledged him down to the foot of the steps.…
