North Yorkshire Police tasked the team to assist a walker (m, 46) descending from Pen y ghent who was unable to continue due to the combined effects of a pre-existing medical condition and exhaustion. With the walker’s location known and accessible by off-road vehicle, two members in a team Land Rover attended and transported the walker back to Horton in Ribblesdale. Volunteer hours: 4
The team was alerted by North Yorkshire Police for two missing female walkers believed to be on Penyghent. With darkness falling they had become disorientated after changing their descent route. Once their location was established, team members were able to reach their location in CRO vehicles and drive them safely back to Horton car park. Volunteer hours: 28

Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) alerted the team to assist with a walker (F, 65) who had slipped on the path descending to Janet’s Foss and suffered a head injury. After an assessment by a team member she was able to walk the short distance back to the road and taken in a CRO vehicle to Malham car park and transferred to the YAS paramedics. Volunteer hours: 20
