A group of 3 caver were abseiling on ropes down the vertical pitches of Aquamole Pot. During their descent, the lead caver fell down the last 12 metre deep pitch of a section of cave known as Rabbit’s Graveyard. INCIDENT 8/2020 – Feb. 10th. Mon. 13.41hrs – Near Thistle Cave, Ribblehead, Ingleton – Mountain Incident

An adult (m, 55) accompanying a group of young people, collapsed at the entrance to Thistle Cave, which they had intended to explore. There were prolonged attempts to revive him by CPR, but when YAS paramedics arrived, by road and air ambulance, they determined that life was extinct. A walker (m, 86) complained of not feeling very well, then collapsed, having suffered a suspected heart attack on the Ingleton to Ingleborough bridleway, a short distance beyond Crina Bottom.
