After a rain shower, a walker (f, 63) slipped on the limestone pavement at the top of Malham Cove, sustaining an ankle injury. Having transported YAS paramedics to the casualty site so that they might attend to the injured visitor, team members evacuated her to a team Land Rover on a wheeled stretcher. INCIDENT 46/2022 JUN 25th SAT. 14,38 RIBBLE WAY PATH, SOUTH OF HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A walker (m) tripped on the riverside path near Horton Wastewater Treatment Works, sustaining a suspected hip injury. A passer-by called for an ambulance and his companions made him as comfortable as possible, while waiting. YAS called CRO for assistance and after the YAS paramedic had immobilised the casualty and administered pain relief, team members carried him to a waiting road ambulance. Volunteer hours: 25  

INCIDENT 39/2022 JUN 11th  SAT. 16.54 Just on to SUMMIT PLATEAU, INGLEBOROUGH, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A Three Peaks walker (m, 60) was reported to have collapsed (believed to be in cardiac arrest), just on to the summit of Ingleborough, having climbed up from Chapel le dale. Members of his own group administered CPR until paramedics arrived by North West Air Ambulance. Concern was expressed for a walker, described as ‘struggling’ on the steps coming off Whernside. His wife had expected to meet him at the Station Inn, Ribblehead, but ten minutes after the CRO duty controller was alerted, he spoke to the walker who had just phoned his wife to say he was in Horton in Ribblesdale.
