A walker (f, 37) tripped and fell, head first, on the rocky first section of the path from the summit ridge of Whernside towards Bruntscar. YAS sent their rapid response vehicle and an air ambulance, then called CRO. They were joined, later, by a road ambulance. The air ambulance being first on scene, the pilot flew up towards the cloud base and deposited his paramedics about 100m from the casualty.…
A walker (m, 38) slipped on the thawing ice surface of the field path between Hoffmann Kiln Lane and Langcliffe village, sustaining a lower leg fracture. On receiving the 999 call, YAS sent a road ambulance, whose crew ventured to within 100m of the casualty, then asked for CRO’s assistance in evacuating him.
