INCIDENT 64/2021 – AUGUST 18th WED. 17.27 – Nr SNOW FALLS, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Conflicting reports resulted in YAS paramedics in a Rapid Response Vehicle, a road ambulance and two YAA helicopters plus NYP and 17 CRO team members with two CRO Land Rovers converging on the Snow Falls area of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail.  Investigation showed that there were only three visitors involved and that no-one had fallen in the river, as first reported. INCIDENT 57/2021 – AUGUST 2nd MON. 17.54 – NEAR SNOW FALLS, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A visitor (f, 40) fell on the return leg of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, sustaining leg and head injuries. When the ambulance crew members were unable to find her, YAS called the CRO Duty Controller. Team members soon found the casualty, assessed her, provided pain relief and carried her by stretcher to the YAS road ambulance for the hand-over. Volunteer hours: 33  

INCIDENT 55/2021 – AUGUST 1st SUN. 16.08 – SNOW FALLS, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A visitor (f, 17) was reported to have fallen and twisted her ankle on the return leg of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, between Baxenghyll Gorge and Snow Falls. Team members carried her to the family’s car and gave her into the care of her parents. Volunteer hours: 21  

INCIDENT 44/2021 – JULY 5th MON. 14.11 – Nr SNOW FALLS, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A visitor (f, 63) felt unwell, dizzy and possibly dehydrated, soon after passing Snow Falls on the return leg of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. Her husband phoned for an ambulance and YAS alerted the CRO Duty Controller. When he spoke to the husband, he was told that the patient had been able to stand and would set off again, to walk gently towards Ingleton. A small team went to investigate…
