North Yorkshire Police (NYP) received a report of a body, floating down the River Greta at Ingleton Bottoms. The Team were called by North Yorkshire Police to assist 3 walkers (all F, 67,68,70) who had become disorientated in poor visibility and darkness on the summit of Ingleborough. The walkers, who had fading torchlight and phone charge wisely decided to call us and stay put where they were. A Three Peaks ‘charity walker’, last seen at 07.30 and heard from while ‘descending Whernside’ at 17.20, was reported missing by someone waiting with transport at Horton car park. A telephone call and a PhoneFind text were not answered, so two team members would set out to do a preliminary check along the road route.
