INCIDENT 86/2025. OCTOBER 11th SAT. 15.39 hrs Nr JANET’S FOSS, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE.

A walker (f, 24) slipped and injured an ankle not far from Janet’s Foss on the path towards Malham village. When she had been assessed by the YAS paramedic, team members helped her to the road ambulance which took her to Settle Railway Station for the first train home. An undeserved end to a day involving at least two trains and a bus-ride. Volunteer hours: 17  

INCIDENT 68/2024. September 13TH 13.46 HRS. JANET’S FOSS, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) alerted the team to assist with a walker (F, 65) who had slipped on the path descending to Janet’s Foss and suffered a head injury.  After an assessment by a team member she was able to walk the short distance back to the road and taken in a CRO vehicle to Malham car park and transferred to the YAS paramedics. Volunteer hours: 20

INCIDENT 56/2024. August 6TH 15.58 HRS. JANET’S FOSS, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Yorkshire Ambulance Service asked the team to assist with a walker (m, 19) who had collapsed and suffered facial injuries on the footpath near Janet’s Foss. Team members assisted the on scene paramedics to bring the casualty to a nearby field where he was transferred to the air ambulance crew and flown to hospital. Volunteer hours: 38

INCIDENT 52/2024. JULY 28TH SUN 17.09 HRS. JANET’S FOSS, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Yorkshire Ambulance Service asked the team to assist with a walker (m, 89) who had fallen and injured his shoulder on the footpath near Janet’s Foss.  Team members attended ready for the expected stretcher carry, but some astute local knowledge allowed a team vehicle to drive right to the casualty’s location.  The casualty and the YAS ambulance crew were driven back to the ambulance in Malham.
