INCIDENT 02/2019 – Jan. 17th. Thu. 20.25hrs – Moor Head Lane, Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A mountain biker (m, 60) hit a patch of ice while descending towards Helwith Bridge on an evening ride. He was catapulted from his cycle and dislocated a shoulder. Team members administered analgesics and immobilised the injury, before helping him into a team vehicle and driving him to meet a YAS road ambulance, down at the road-head. Alert only – Sep. 9th Sun. 10.50hrs – Three Peaks walk (Horton in Ribblesdale), North Yorkshire – Alert only

CRO duty controllers were advised that a Three Peaks walker (m, 46), last seen at Ribblehead at 12.00 noon the previous day, had not returned to his car at Horton in Ribblesdale.  All local hotels were phoned, in case the missing walker had stayed the night, and search planning was beginning when North Yorkshire Police officers found him, back at his car and about to drive off.  Without a map,…
