Incident 40/2018 – Jun. 15th Fri 11.55 Ingleborough, Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A walker with a medical condition collapsed and was unconscious for a brief period. Initial information stated that he was ‘on the track to Little Ingleborough’, but further enquiries suggested that he was on the Horton side of the hill. Alert – Apr. 24th Tue. 17.08 Ingleborough, North Yorkshire – Alert only

Members of a practice expedition group (3 m, 1 f; 16-18) reported themselves ‘lost at the summit of Ingleborough Hill’. Use of SARloc showed them to be on the path across Simon Fell Breast, which leads to Horton in Ribblesdale. They were persuaded to continue and were met, a few minutes later, by their supervisors, eventually reaching their camp-site, rather wet.         Volunteer hours: 1+.  

Incident 43/2017 – June 24th Sat. 21.38 – 3 Peaks Route, Ingleborough to Horton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

The team were contacted by North Yorkshire Police regarding 5 walkers (f, 35-40), reported overdue on the descent from Ingleborough. A party of four were quickly ascertained to have arrived in Horton safely, but a lone walker was still not accounted for. Two search parties were dispatched to begin checking the route from Horton, but as this happened, the lone walker arrived back at Horton safe and well. Volunteer hours:4

Incident 34/2017 – May 25th Thur. 16.31 – Horton-in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

An 82 year old walker requested help due to feeling faint when trying to walk; it was reported that he had fallen earlier and was now about 1/2 mile from Horton-in-Ribblesdale. A nearby CRO team member met with the incident informant, was able to reach the casualty’s location and bring him down in a private vehicle.
