The Team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to a walker (F, 52) in difficulty on Whernside summit. She was suffering from an aggravated hip problem, which was preventing her from walking further. North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) asked for CRO’s assistance in reaching a local resident (m, 94) who had fallen, at home, sustaining a painful hip injury. The house is 450m up a track, mostly too narrow for a road ambulance, so the ambulance crew walked up. A team Land Rover was able to access the site. INCIDENT 46/2022 JUN 25th SAT. 14,38 RIBBLE WAY PATH, SOUTH OF HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A walker (m) tripped on the riverside path near Horton Wastewater Treatment Works, sustaining a suspected hip injury. A passer-by called for an ambulance and his companions made him as comfortable as possible, while waiting. YAS called CRO for assistance and after the YAS paramedic had immobilised the casualty and administered pain relief, team members carried him to a waiting road ambulance. Volunteer hours: 25  

INCIDENT 12/2021 – Apr. 17th Sat. 14.54 – Long Lane, Clapham, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident

A walker (f, 74) fell on the rough surface near the top of Long Lane, Clapham, experiencing significant pain when she tried to stand. Having had both hips replaced in the past, there was concern about possible injury/damage.
