Incident 77/2017 – Oct. 9th Mon. 11.15 – near Stainforth, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

A walker (f 57) slipped and fell on the riverside path south of Stainforth Force, fracturing her left leg. CRO assisted Yorkshire Ambulance Service and air ambulance paramedics to extract her from the location for transfer to hospital. Volunteer hours: 23

Incident 75/2017 – Sep. 30th Sat. 20.30 – Simon Fell, Ingleborough, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

A lone walker (f 25) reported herself lost and benighted whilst descending from the summit of Ingleborough. CRO team members and a search and rescue dog were deployed to search the eastern flanks of the hill. Incident 24/2017 – Apr. 23rd Sun. 10.34 – Whernside, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

CRO were called out by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to locate and provide assistance to a 79 year old walker who was in difficulty near to the summit of Whernside. CRO members located and attended to the casualty, who had apparently fallen as a result of a trip and was unable to continue his walk. Incident 23/2017 – Apr. 22nd Sat. 21.13 – Swan Dike Pot, Pen-y-ghent Gill, North Yorkshire – Cave Rescue.

CRO were asked by our neighbours, Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, to provide assistance on an incident in their area. Four cavers were reported overdue in Swan Dike Pot, above Pen-y-ghent Gill. Two of the party had made their way out of the cave and reported that one member of the party was stuck beyond a tight section of passage.
