A walker (f, 61) was reported to have taken a fall, breaking an ankle on the path down from Pen y ghent towards Hull Pot, near its junction with the ‘old Three Peaks route’. As team members responded, YAS advised that an air ambulance had collected the patient and was flying her down to meet the road ambulance on Horton Playing Field. The team stood down. A paraglider pilot (m, 54) launched from the summit ridge of Whernside, but immediately landed heavily, 200m down-slope, injuring his right ankle. As the first CRO members scaled the hill, the North West Air Ambulance landed on the ridge. A walker (f, 23) sustained an ankle injury on rough and boggy terrain, so that she was unable to put weight on her injured leg. A companion rang the Police for help and CRO team members responded.
