A walker (f, 61) was reported to have taken a fall, breaking an ankle on the path down from Pen y ghent towards Hull Pot, near its junction with the ‘old Three Peaks route’. As team members responded, YAS advised that an air ambulance had collected the patient and was flying her down to meet the road ambulance on Horton Playing Field. The team stood down. A walker was reported to have broken his ankle after tripping on the return leg of Ingleton waterfalls walk. He was found by CRO team members towards the southern end of Quarry Wood, near to the bridge over the River Doe. A paraglider pilot (m, 54) launched from the summit ridge of Whernside, but immediately landed heavily, 200m down-slope, injuring his right ankle. As the first CRO members scaled the hill, the North West Air Ambulance landed on the ridge. Paramedics scrambled down and packaged the patient before team members, assisted by passers-by, carried patient and team stretcher up to the aircraft. A walker (f, 23) sustained an ankle injury on rough and boggy terrain, so that she was unable to put weight on her injured leg. A companion rang the Police for help and CRO team members responded. After assessment by a team doctor, the patient was stretchered to the road-head and transferred to a friend’s car for the journey to hospital. Volunteer hours: 34
