Having rescued a number of sheep from easier places, himself, a farmer asked for CRO’s assistance in rescuing three sheep from ledges on Great Close Scar, overlooking Malham Tarn, as he could not do this, alone, in safety. A passing walker reported that a lamb was stranded in the bottom of Fluted Hole on the South side of Ingleborough. A small team set off in CRO 4 (the Honda Pioneer), but came to a sudden halt in a grip (drain) cunningly concealed under vegetation. The Team were called by North Yorkshire Police to assist a local farmer when one of her sheep became stuck in a tight water culvert.
