A member of the public reported a sheep stuck on a ledge in a disused quarry near Ingleton. The team gave the sheep an opportunity to self-rescue. When it did not do so, team members attended and, having discussed the situation with the farmer, set up a rope rescue system. The team were called by North Yorkshire Police to assist a farmer rescue a cow stuck in marshy ground on Kirkby Fell. As the duty controller was gathering more information about the incident the farmer called back to report that they had been able to free the animal. No action required by CRO
Following a report of a sheep down a fluted shaft on Newby Moss, a small team were mobilised. to recover the stricken animal. They accessed the site in CRO 1 and CRO 4. One team member descended the shaft and was able to capture the sheep and encourage it into the animal haul sack. A caver reported that a sheep was stranded about 20m down a shaft into Rift Pot (Masongill). He offered to attempt to rescue it and report back. Meanwhile, team members were put on stand-by and one was tasked with checking the location. When the caver advised that the sheep had been returned safely to the fell, team members were stood down.
