The Team were asked by North Yorkshire Police to assist with rescuing two women whose car had become stuck fast in a snow drift on the minor road across Scotsthrop Moor, above Settle. Three walkers (m, 20, 20, 18) reported themselves lost in thick mist, heavy rain and strong wind while attempting to walk the Three Peaks. NYP were able to provide a grid reference which placed them on Simon Fell, to the NE of Ingleborough. Whilst incident 88 was in progress, a call was received from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to a report of a vehicle in the stream above Scaleber Force, with person’s trapped, and ambulance crews having difficulty accessing the incident due to road conditions.
