INCIDENT 54/2019 – July 9th. Tue. 23.42hrs – Ingleborough, North Yorkshire – Mountain Incident

Three inexperienced walkers, attempting the Three Peaks, reported themselves lost, but uninjured on Ingleborough. The Phonefind app showed them to be on the Swinetail, from where they were advised by phone to return to the summit shelter. This they did, but declined to risk trying to find a way off and were instructed to stay at the shelter. One member ran up the hill from Newby, one remained at home…

INCIDENT 29/2019 – Apr. 27th. Sat. 15.43hrs – Whernside, North Yorkshire – Mountain Incident

Meanwhile back on Whernside as team members were about to leave from incident 27, 3 walkers (1 M, 2 x F) were reported as needing assistance down the steep final sections, where  a waiting vehicle transported them to the Hill Inn to arrange their own transport back to Horton.   3 volunteer hours

INCIDENT 16/2019 – Apr. 7th. Sun. 19.41hrs – Rayside Plantation, Ingleborough, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A group of walkers doing the three peaks walk decided to descend from the summit of Ingleborough to finish their walk in Clapham village. During the descent, two members of the party developed leg injuries which prevented them from completing the walk. They waited for help whilst the rest of the group continued. CRO initiated a recce of the reported location of the injured walkers; but they were not found…

INCIDENT 14/2019 – Mar. 26th. Tue. 17.53hrs – Ingleborough, Clapham, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

Two Three Peaks walkers (m, 21; f, 21) became detached from a much larger sponsored walk group and, without a map, took the wrong route off Ingleborough. Before the daylight was lost completely, they phoned North Yorkshire Police, who contacted CRO.
