A 3-peaks walker slipped on wet rocks just below the summit of Pen-y-ghent. His fall caused an injury to his ankle – a suspected fracture. A diabetic student (m,17), on a field visit, collapsed, falling face-down in the beck. He was recovered by companions, then regained consciousness. INCIDENT 58/2018 – Sep. 7th Tue. 16.46hrs – Near Snow Falls, Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue
A walker (m,86) with several medical conditions and a history of back trouble was unable to complete the walk because of the pain. Having administered pain relief, team members carried the patient from just below Snow Falls up to Falls Park, at Beezleys, to await the arrival of a road ambulance for the journey to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. CRO were called to support Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) with an ongoing incident. Two cavers had been reported overdue the previous evening from a traverse of Dowber Gill passage that links Dow Cave with Providence Pot.
