The Team were called by North Yorkshire Police to assist a local farmer when one of her sheep became stuck in a tight water culvert. A local man (78) collapsed while walking in fields near Selside with members of his family. Sadly, despite the prolonged efforts of paramedics from two road ambulances and an air ambulance, he could not be revived. Team members recovered him, by stretcher, to a road ambulance. …
The team were called upon by Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) to potentially assist with an ongoing rescue they had in Goyden Pot. A number of members were placed on stand-by but were ultimately not deployed as UWFRA were able to resolve the incident successfully themselves. A good outcome for our neighbours and partners at UWFRA.
CRO was asked by our colleagues in Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) to assist with a search for a missing person in and around the Nidd Gorge near Knaresborough. A team from CRO attended and joined several other mountain rescue teams in searching areas of potential interest, but the missing person was not located. Volunteer hours: 47
