Bowland Pennine MRT passed on a request to rescue a lamb which had fallen 20m down an un-named abandoned dig southwest of Whitmore Pot near Whitewell, Bowland Forest. A small team attended and two cavers descended, locating the lamb down a narrow rift beyond a constriction. A heavily pregnant ewe was stranded on a ledge at the Western end of Warrendale Knotts, above Settle. The farmer left it, hoping it would self-rescue when it became hungry, but there seemed to be enough grazing to keep it going. After three days, he called CRO via North Yorkshire Police.
