Yorkshire Ambulance Service asked the team to assist with a walker (f,61) who had taken a tumbling fall coming off the summit of Ingleborough and sustained arm and facial injuries. Our colleagues at Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) asked the team to assist with investigating a report of three cavers overdue in Dowbergill Passage, a demanding through trip between Providence Pot and Dow Cave in upper Wharfedale. An all-night search by cavers from the two teams and Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team (SMRT) eventually located the missing cavers around 09.15 on Friday morning well into the system, tired but uninjured. …
North Yorkshire Police called the team to assist a walker (m,17) who had slipped and injured his ankle and knee descending Whernside toward Bruntscar. Team members ascended to the casualty’s location just off the summit ridge, where they assessed and packaged the casualty.
