Seven team members returned to the Great and Little Whernside area, this time into Coverdale. Following a report of someone having been seen to come off the top of Malham Cove, Yorkshire Ambulance Service dispatched air and road ambulances, a Rapid Response Vehicle and its HART (Hazardous Area Response Team, based near Morley), also alerting CRO. INCIDENT 79 (continued) – OCTOBER 20th WED. – KETTLEWELL AREA, UPPER WHARFEDALE
Eleven team members returned to Upper Wharfedale to continue the search for the missing walker. The local team (UWFRA) was also supported by NYP Police Search Advisors, RAF, Swaledale and Calder Valley teams and air assets, together with local farmers and gamekeepers. Two walkers (f, f) reported themselves lost in the dark, having walked up to Malham Cove. NYP ascertained their position from their mobile phone and passed the information to CRO.
