Four cavers were reported overdue on a through trip from Lancaster Hole to Wretched Rabbit, beneath Casterton Fell, having set off at noon. Four members of the Red Rose C&PC, resident at Bull Pot Farm, went to Wretched Rabbit and began searching from that end of the visiting cavers’ anticipated route. A walker (m, 79) was reported to be having difficulty breathing after climbing the steps to the top of Malham Cove. YAS paramedics assessed the patient before team members assisted him in walking to a team vehicle on the Malham Rakes road. North Yorkshire Police were called by two walkers (m,27; f,27) who said they were lost in low cloud and rain after following a published walk on Ingleborough. As they were in a poor reception area, the usual telephone location systems were ineffective.
