The team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to a report of a climber having fallen at Giggleswick Scar North, near Settle. The climber (M, 52) had reportedly fallen some 10m and sustained a head injury. Members were rapidly deployed to the scene to assess the situation. The climber had sustained a head wound and, following treatment and assessment by both the Team Doctor and paramedics from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS), he was brought down from the crag in a stretcher to the roadside where he was transferred to a road ambulance. We wish him a very speedy recovery. Our thanks also go to our colleagues in Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue team who initially received the call and passed it to us quickly.
