A walker (m, 73) missed his footing on the edge of the limestone pavement at the top of Malham Cove, hitting his head on the rock and suffering lower leg and wrist abrasions. A doctor in his walking group dressed the head wound, but left with other group members who were feeling cold when team members arrived. The head bandaging was not disturbed and the casualty was placed in an insulated ‘cas bag’ on a lightweight stretcher to be carried to CRO 3 Land Rover. This took the casualty and his wife to the road ambulance waiting on the Malham Raikes road,
