North Yorkshire Police received a call to a walker (m) collapsed but conscious, descending from Whernside ‘towards Ingleton’. The duty controller was able to re-contact the caller and established that they were in fact descending towards Bruntscar. The police requested the team to assist in a search for a missing person (m,50) believed to be on Whernside with inadequate clothing for the freezing conditions.
