His fall was witnessed by a mountain biker who phoned for help, then she was joined by a passing fell-runner, who used his own first aid kit to staunch the flow of blood from the deep scalp wound. A school-girl (10) on an outdoor education residential visit was reported to have fainted, while walking to the side of and well below the Ingleborough to Little Ingleborough path. A walker (m,28), wearing trainers, slipped on snow or ice when beginning to descend from Little Ingleborough towards Gaping Gill and sustained a suspected shoulder dislocation. A walker (m,38) slipped on ice descending from Ingleborough on the steep section towards the Hill Inn, and sustained a suspected dislocated knee. Team members responded and provided pain relief, before moving the casualty on a stretcher to flatter ground on Humphrey Bottom.
