INCIDENT 83/2023 SEP. 30th SAT. 17.17 CHAPEL-LE-DALE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A group of walkers (2f, 3m, 30s) set off up Ingleborough from near Chapel-le-Dale.  One member of the group turned back at Humphrey Bottom.  Having later received a message from the rest of the group saying that they were lost, she called 999.  As a small CRO team met with her to get further information, the other members of the group turned up safe and well. A walker told the police that he had found a sheep stuck in a bog near Harry Horse Stone. He had tried to pull it out, but succeeded only in pulling himself in. INCIDENT 72/2023 AUG 28 MON. 18.47 FLUTED HOLE, NEWBY, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT

A passing walker reported that a lamb was stranded in the bottom of Fluted Hole on the South side of Ingleborough. A small team set off in CRO 4 (the Honda Pioneer), but came to a sudden halt in a grip (drain) cunningly concealed under vegetation.
