A walker (f, 24) slipped and injured an ankle not far from Janet’s Foss on the path towards Malham village. When she had been assessed by the YAS paramedic, team members helped her to the road ambulance which took her to Settle Railway Station for the first train home. An expeditioner (f, 15) slipped on the seriously slippery limestone pavement at the top of Malham Cove, twisting a knee and dislocating the kneecap. After assessment and pain relief, a team paramedic reduced the dislocation, thus easing the pain, before the casualty was helped into an insulated bag and lifted onto a Bell stretcher. A visitor (f, 37) slipped on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail near Beezley Falls, sustaining a serious ankle injury. The team was put on stand-by, but when the Duty Controller telephoned the reporting person, he was told that several other visitors were helping walk/carry the injured person back to the Falls Park cafe. A visitor (f, 46) fell near the top of the steps up the side of Malham Cove, sustaining a head injury. YAS requested assistance in moving the patient from the accident site to the air ambulance helicopter.
