A golden retriever was reported to have fallen down a 20′ pot-hole by the path between Bar Pot and Gaping Gill. Two members drove up in the Honda Pioneer, scrambled down the 3m rift and recovered the dog, unharmed. Other members who had been driving up to Trow Gill in a team Land Rover were stood down. A German Pointer called Frankie fell into the river, between the ‘Pecca Twin Falls’ on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail and was stranded on an inaccessible ledge (just below the one on which Meatball was stranded on Boxing Day). While taking his human for a Boxing Day walk on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, Meatball, an Irish Wheaten Terrier, fell about 10m into the river just upstream of Pecca Bridge. Although uninjured, he could not regain the path, so scrabbled out onto a slippery, sloping ledge in a distressed state. A dog was reported to have been spooked by an unusual noise whilst walking with it’s owners on a footpath near to Ingleton Quarry. The dog had bolted under the quarry boundary fence and fell about 10 metres down the quarry face on to a ledge.
