Two cavers were reported to be more than five hours overdue from a through trip between Lost John’s and Notts 2, which they had estimated would take four hours (20.00 Sunday to 00.00 Monday). Incident 13/2018 – Mar. 24th Sat. 22.15 Wretched Rabbit / County Pot, Casterton, Cumbria – Cave Rescue
Two cavers (f, f) were reported to be three hours overdue in Wretched Rabbit, Easegill. Having alerted CRO, other cavers, staying at Bull Pot Farm, went to investigate and found that the two were still underground, unharmed, but moving very slowly. Nov 27th Sun. 18.01 – Lancaster Hole, Easegill, Cumbria – Alert only.
A caver (m) was reported overdue by his wife, having been expected home before nightfall. Whilst enquiries were being made, and Cumbria Police were talking again to the caller, the caver returned home. Other than conducting initial inquiries, no other action was taken by the duty controller. Volunteer hours: 30 minutes
