A walker (f, 46) slipped on mud, on the path from Lower Winskill down to Langcliffe, hearing a ‘snap’ as she injured an ankle. INCIDENT 60/2018 – Oct. 13th Sat. 10.06hrs – Pen-y-ghent, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A 3-peaks walker slipped on wet rocks just below the summit of Pen-y-ghent. His fall caused an injury to his ankle – a suspected fracture. The injured walker telephoned for help, but also started to make his way down the hill after his ankle was strapped up by a passerby. INCIDENT 55/2018 – Aug. 26th Sun. 18.21hrs – Storrs Common, near Beezley Grange, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A visitor (f, 22), having almost completed the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, slipped on the path below Storrs Common, sustaining a suspected fracture of the left ankle. After treatment by YAS paramedics, she was stretchered  to a team vehicle, then driven to the Community Centre car park, transferred to a road ambulance and taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment.
